ASW Steel Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

It is the objective of ASW Steel Inc. to create and maintain a climate of mutual respect and cooperation
in which all persons who access our facilities will be able to do so irrespective of any disability they may
have. We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that our policies and procedures are consistent
with the following Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) principles:

  • Respecting the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities;
  • Integrating the provision of goods and services to persons with disabilities;
  • Giving persons with disabilities an opportunity equal to that given to others to obtain, use and
    benefit from the goods and services available from our firm.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

ASW Steel is committed to making every reasonable effort to meet the accessibility needs of persons
with disabilities in a timely manner and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility
and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The
company has developed and will maintain a multi-year accessibility plan as required under the AODA
Integrated Standards. The purpose of this plan is to ensure compliance with the Integrated Standard.
The plan will be reviewed and updated every five (5) years.

Customer Service Standard

  • Provide training for all staff who deal with customers or suppliers – Ongoing as required

Integrated Standards

  • Accessibility Policy developed in accordance with the requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standards – Complete
  • Accessibility Policy posted on company website and available for visitors at the Main Gate. – Complete
  • Multi-year Plan developed and posted on company website. To be reviewed every 5 years. – Complete

Employment Standard

  • For each employee with a known disability, company will determine if it is necessary to provide individualized workplace emergency response information. If necessary, such individualized information will be formulated and provided. – Ongoing
  • Recruitment processes and procedures will be reviewed and revised as needed to ensure that obligations under
    Integrated Standard are met. – Ongoing
  • Individual accommodation and return to work plan process documented. – Complete

Information and Communication Standard

  • New company websites or content will conform with WCAG 2.0 Level A – Ongoing
